Hi- I am DeVonne I am the proud owner of Artistic Urges. I started doing hair and makeup professionally when I was 19 years old. I worked behind the chair in my home town for 1 1/2 years before I made the move to Minneapolis. After moving to the Twin Cities I began sampling all the options and opportunities I had available to me by being licensed in cosmetology. I was an owner's assistant, a manager, a technical advisor and trainer for staff at a franchise salon, an educator on stage training other local stylist on a design team and I hosted educational events for groups of professional women. I have been on location for both fashion shows and weddings. I love to be inspired with continuing educational symposiums and most recently I attended hands on training at Aveda on technical foundations of the up-do. My clientele are women, men and teens. I enjoy hair cutting and hair couloring and taming those wild eyebrows or other facial hair with waxing.
I love doing hair. I love talking to people and seeing them relax for an hour or two while they receive their services. I wrote the studio's mission statement in 1991 and it's still the same today. Although Artistic Urges has been transformed and gone through many changes over the years....... at its core it is the same. Just the way I like it. But enough about me.........lets talk about you.
Hair Designer Bonnie Jean comes to us from Southwest Minnesota where she grew up on a family farm near the prairie town of Canby. She is trained and licensed in cosmetology and holds certificates in various health therapies. Bonnie has received training in London with designer Trebor Sorbie and has toured salons in Amsterdam, Belgium, and Paris. She attends regional seminars and local symposiums and has experience in stage work, design teams, and makeovers for cosmetic consulting lines and fashion shows. Bonnie Jean is a freelance artist coordinator listed in the Minnesota production guide and enjoys working with models, photographers and film makers. Her life-force continues to grow as a socially conscious artist nourishing vitality in every moment.
Hi, my name is Destinee. I am a graduate of the Model School of Hair Design. I was inspired into this profession by my Aunt DeVonne. She has owned her business my entire life and I grew up around the salon atmosphere. I specialize in haircutting and dimensional color. I also enjoy facial waxing and hair extensions. But, it doesn't stop there. If you want to be pampered, come in for a spa manicure and pedicure. Have you ever soaked in a bowl with essential oils and flower petals? If your in a hurry and want to multitask, how about an express manicure and pedicure? I am the junior stylist at Artistic Urges. It's a fun, relaxing, noncompetitive studio to grow my business. Hello, my name is Becky Swanson and I am a certified/licensed Massage Therapist. I received my education at The Aveda Institute in Minneapolis, MN. I studied Anatomy, Physiology, Aromatherapy and various massage techniques and applications. I graduated with 600 hours of training including 70 treatments in 240 clinical hours.

Hello, I'm Janet. I've been practicing for seven years. I graduated from High Tech Institute in 2002 with an Associate Science degree in Massage Therapy. I have continued my studies with John Barnes, using his methods of Myofascial Release, Unwinding, and Rebounding. I have also studied Healing Touch and Esoteric Healing. Most recently I completed a 5 - day training in Energy Medicine with Donna Eden.
Each session may combine different modalities and Young Living essential oils, depending on your needs.
